能登半島地震被害の支援活動第3弾最終日

AARジャパンと共同で開始した能登半島地震被害の支援活動第3弾最終日を迎えました。
時間ができた分、次回以降の支援活動の宿泊拠点を少し北上出来ないか、様々な伝手を使って探していたところ、『穴水エリアで民泊に使われていた家屋であれば、多少被災していて、断水ではあるけども、2階での寝泊まりは可能なのでどうぞ』との情報をいただいたので、内覧させていただくことにしました。
その家屋、まさに珠洲市に向かう道路からすぐのところにあり、穴水から珠洲までは渋滞しても2時間かからない距離です。
炊き出し食材といえば、第３弾から野菜を中心としたご支援をしていただけることとなりました。全国の生産者のかたからこの被災地へのご支援を募り、集まった食材を必要な団体へ届けてくれる、という形です。今回は発注のタイミングが合わず、最終日のみお願いすることとしましたが、宿泊先の管理事務所の方々のご協力もあり、無事に食材を受け取って、最終日のメニューに使うことができました。
果物の支援もあったので、写真を不覚にも撮り忘れましたが、おみかん3箱、避難所でお渡しいたしました。
メニューは麻婆丼、中華コーンスープで、チーム鰓呼吸のプロお二人がパパっと仕上げてくださり、我々は美女チームと切りもの(切る作業大好きなので嬉しい)と別途届いた支援品のりんごを剥いて、パック詰めの裏方作業を楽しくやりました。
仕上がった夕食の提供は避難所にいた子どもたちが進んでお手伝いに加わってくれ、夕食を取りに来た方々に『偉いわねー』と声をかけてもらったりしてとても和やかな場になりました。お味は言わずもがな、で、体育館で召し上がった方から、『これ、すごく美味しい』『なすが入ってるのね、食べるの久しぶりで嬉しい』と言った声が聞かれました。
最終日なので配膳まで終えて、手伝ってくれた子どもたちと一緒に食事をしました。
『次に来たときのごはん、何が食べたい？』とリクエストの聞きとりも。内容はお楽しみのために書きませんが、子どもたちも自分の家が大変な状況を子どもたちなりにきっと理解して、我慢しているなか、自分の食べたいものを言える状況はとても大事だな、と感じました。
我々が帰路に着くときには寒い中、ファミリーでお見送りに出て来てくださり、『また来るね』『待ってます！』と寒さを忘れる温かい時間になりました。お見送りありがとう、またいきますね！
今回の能登半島地震災害は、被災地が広範囲なこともあり、支援が長期化することは必須だな、と初動活動で実感していました。
こうしてSNSを通して被災地におけるNPOができる働きや、そこに来てくださる避難所の被災されているかたたちを含めたお手伝いボランティアさんとの我々の活動内容を美化せず、ありのままに報告することで、市民活動の場としてのNPOの存在意義をについて考えたり、『自分にできること』への第一歩を踏み出すきっかけになれれば幸いです。

The third phase of the Western Earthquake support day 4 (last day)
The menu was Chinese rice bowl and Chinese corn soup. We, along with the wonderful team, received cutlery and apples, which were donated separately. We had fun peeling it and working behind the scenes to pack it. The children at the evacuation center volunteered to help serve the finished dinner, and the people who came to pick up the dinner said to them, “That’s great!” and it became a very heartwarming place. Needless to say, the taste was amazing, and people who ate it at the gym said things like, “This is really delicious,” and “It has eggplant in it, so I’m happy because it’s been a while since I’ve had it.” Since it was the last day, we finished serving the meals and ate with the children who helped out.
Due to the large area affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake, we realized during our initial response that it was essential to provide long-term support. In this way, we will report on the work that NPOs can do in disaster-stricken areas through SNS, as well as the details of our activities with the volunteers who come to the disaster-stricken areas, including those affected by the disaster, without glorifying them. We hope that this will be an opportunity for you to think about the significance of NPOs as a place for civic activities, and to take the first step toward “what you can do”
